NgalSo Tantric Self Healing Practice of Maitripa’s Dakini, the Playful Mantra Holder
Maitrīpāda (ca 1007-1085), also known as Maitrīgupta, Advayava- jra, and, to Tibetans, Maitrīpa, was a prominent Indian Buddhist Mahasiddha associated with the Mahāmudrā transmission. His main teacher was Mahasiddha Shavaripa the hunter and his most famous student was Marpa.
The generation and completion stages of the Vajrayogini practice were originally taught by Buddha Vajradhara. He manifested in the form of Heruka to expound the Root Tantra of Heruka, and it was in this Tantra that he explained the practice of Vajrayogini. All the many lineages of instructions on Vajrayogini can be traced back to this original revelation.
